Only three short years after the G8 pledged to 'make poverty history,' a global food crisis is making poverty in historically large proportions.

 

The rise of biofuel production and the increasing impact of climate change coupled with an unparalleled decrease in agricultural aid are creating a triple whammy for poor countries.

 

This year's G8 summit was held in Hokkaido, Japan and we were calling on the G8 leaders to take action on the causes of hunger around the world. Here we report back on their progress.
