Bollocks to Poverty tour - women rock!

Kate Nash at Reading festival

Throw a party to celebrate International Women's Day and stand up for women fighting discrimination, poverty and violence.

Women and girls around the world are valued less, fed less, fed last, overworked, underpaid, not schooled and subjected to violence.

• 1 in 3 women will be raped, assaulted, physically or sexually abused in her lifetime
• 10 million more girls are out of school than boys.
• Sexual violence and the sex trade spread HIV and AIDS.
• Denying women basic rights like land ownership and education means them and their children starve.
• 70% of the world’s poorest people are women and girls.

ActionAid knows that to end poverty, we need to end violence against women and give women the same opportunities as men to fulfil their potential.

Hajara is just one of the amazing women we supportEvery day we hear about extraordinary women fighting to bring about change in their lives and their communities. Like Tegla, Hajara and Malika (see below).

Show your support. Throw a party in March to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Whether you’re a guy or a girl you can get behind people like Hajara, and help ActionAid support more women to stand up for their rights and say Bollocks to Poverty.

Kate Nash has donated an exclusive playlist of her favourite female anthems to help inspire you.

And to say thanks we’ll give you a limited edition book of poetry by inspiring women like Yoko Ono!
