Charity supporters are sometimes targeted by individuals who make fraudulent attempts at taking money through activities such as email fraud, lottery scams or hoax fundraisers.
If you suspect fraud - for example if you have received an email claiming to come from ActionAid which you suspect is fraudulent, please do not respond to the sender or engage with the activity directly.
Phone: (0)1460 238 000. We are open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Post: Supporter Care Team, ActionAid UK, Chard Business Park, Jarman Way, Chard, Somerset, TA20 1FB.
What we will do with your concerns
If you report suspected fraudulent activity to ActionAid UK, we will inform the appropriate authorities.
We would normally report any UK-related fraud that is reported to us to ActionFraud, the UK’s national fraud and cybercrime reporting centre.
We would also report to the MET police if the activity is deemed significant and requires immediate action.
We would report any significant fraud to the Charity Commission and to institutional donors if their funds were affected.
We would also follow up with email or internet hosting providers where they are identifiable, but we cannot always guarantee that such communications will be stopped.
