Reacting to the Ukraine Recovery Conference’s lack of priorities on women’s rights, Hannah Bond, Co-Director of Advocacy and Programmes at ActionAid UK said:
“This week’s conference has prioritised infrastructure over people and has presided over a big business capture of Ukraine’s recovery. With vital public services decimated during the still ongoing conflict, a looming push towards austerity couldn’t come at a worse time.
“With each passing day, women in Ukraine are seeing their rights being further eroded. If Ukraine is to move forward towards a just, sustainable and feminist future, they must be able to reclaim their rights and help the country to recover and prosper.”
