COP29 a chance for UK to “stop stalling and start delivering on its climate commitments”

From Baku:

Taahra Ghazi, Co-CEO at ActionAid UK, said: “After years of unfulfilled pledges to climate-devastated communities, the UK must stop stalling and start delivering on its climate commitments. Anything less than a rapid and urgent scaling up of climate finance to address loss and damages will represent a failure at COP this year. Empty words won’t cut it: at COP, we’re holding the Government accountable for its climate promises.

The UK's legacy as a major polluter has placed a burden squarely on the shoulders of those that have contributed the least to the climate crisis. It's time to pay the price.”
